Program Details:
 The Concord Police Department has installed a permanent Drug Take Back Box in the lobby of the concord police department. Citizens can drop off their unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs at any time. No questions will be asked of anyone dropping off medication.


Acceptable Items:
 All solid dosage pharmaceutical products and liquids in consumer containers will be accepted. Including all controlled and non-controlled drugs, over the counter medications, and liquids such as cough syrups.


Items not Accepted:
 Intravenous solutions, injectable, syringes, aerosols, or inhalers. Additionally no illicit substances such as marijuana will be accepted.

Other Disposal Options
  • Mix undesirable substance with coffee grounds or kitty litter, place them in a sealable container and dispose. 
  • If medication is a solid add a small amount of water to dissolve it
  • Use marker and black out any personal information on the empty medicine container prior to disposing of in the trash 
  • With syringes and needles place them in empty laundry detergent containers and seal then dispose
